Which mistakes make Sajdah Sahw necessary in Salaah?
Question
Assalam. Sheikh I am a Hafiz. Alhamdulillah. Please can Sheikh list all the possible areas where a hafiz who is leading the taraweeh has to perform sajdah sahw. Mistakes where sajdah sahw is necessary. Jazakallahukhayra.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, if one or several wājib acts of prayer is left out forgetfully, it becomes wājib to make the sajdah sahw (forgetfulness prostration). By making the forgetfulness prostration, the prayer becomes proper.
Below are a few possible scenarios,
1) If one recites the Quran in the rukūʿ or sitting position.
2) If one performs a rukn before its timing.
3) If one delays a rukn.
4) If one forgets a wājib act.
Please also note that, since these are Waajibat (necessary) acts in Salah, if they are deliberately committed (on purpose), there is no rectification for them, and the prayer will need to be repeated.[1]

إذا سها بزيادة أو نقصان سجد سجدتين بعد التسليمتين وقيل بعد واحدة وتشهد وسلم ويأتي بالصلاة على النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام والدعاء في قعدة السهو هو الصحيح ويجب إن قرأ في ركوع أو قعود أو قدم ركنا أو أخره أو كرره أو غيره واجبا أو تركه.
