Can I apply vaseline while fasting?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Dear Brother,

If you apply vaseline or any lip care while fasting in such a way that you don’t taste the vaseline, it would be permissible. Otherwise, if you taste the vaseline, then it will be makruh.

You should refrain from applying vaseline before performing wudhu as it prevents the water from reaching the lips.
