Can a pregnant Woman abstain from fasting?
Question
Asalamualaikum, I am pregnant, on my 7th month.I live in London , here fasting time is about 18-19 hours. Alhumdulillah l don't have any problems, but I get breathless and feel dizzy quiet often. I would like to know if I hav to fast and it is safe for the baby. Am I exempted or not? Have been waiting for the answer since the first day of Ramadaan. Jazak Allah khair

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible for a pregnant woman[i] not to fast in Ramadhan if there is fear of one’s health or on the child’s health due to fasting.
It is advisable to seek the opinion of your doctor on whether it is safe for you to fast, while you are pregnant.
