Cleaning najasat

Question

My daughter's diaper leaked, and poop got on the carpet. Since poop is najaasa mar'iyya, is it correct to say that if I just clean the carpet as well as I can so that no more poop is visible, then the carpet will be considered pure?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Yes, the carpet will be considered pure provided that no traces of the impurity remain. [1]
