I want u to know whether my mother & I can shift the house after 40 days of my father’s death
Question
I want u to know whether my mother & I can shift the house after 40 days of my father?s death Or do we have to wait till she finished her iddat. We have already kepted Quran sheriff in our new home (earlier other people were living in it from whom v purchased) before my father died. will u plz explain me the same .if ans is No then why?
Answer
The ruling for a woman in Iddat is that she should remain in the marital home for the entire duration of the Iddat. Yes, if there is an urgent need to shift from there to another home, she may shift and spend her Iddat there.
The urgent need must be acceptable in Shari?ah which must be ascertained and confirmed by a competent Mufti.
