For some reason I thought masturbation was allowed in Islam.

Question

I have tried only a few times. Will I be punished as I did not know? I do not do it now.

Answer

If you sincerely repent, and do not repeat the sin, it is hoped that Allah will forgive as He is Most Merciful and Most Forgiving.
