Doubts about Islam

Question

I was recently told that a sister has started to have doubts in islam and is straying further away from the deen. I do not want to say something that will lead them even further away and I cannot stay silent either. Can you give me a proper advice and let me know what I can say to this certain individual that will rid them of any doubts.

Jazakumullah khair.

Walaykum as salam.

Answer

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Respected Sister in Islam,

We commend you for your concern about the Deen of the sister in reference. We also commend you for your approach in seeking advice on this issue.

Allah Ta’ala states in the Quran:

فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ (سورة النحل:43)

“Ask the learned people if you do not know” (Surah An-Nahl: 43)

You should enquire about the doubts of the sister and then ask a learned person in your community on the most effective approach in addressing this issue. Doubts can only be removed through education and knowledge. If doubts are left to linger, they can transform into disbelief. Also, perform two rakat Salatul Hajat and make Dua that Allah Ta’ala guide you to guide the sister in reference; have full conviction that Allah Ta’ala guides those who are sincere to the correct path. You may revert to us if you have any further queries on the issue.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best
