Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
According to Investopedia, a credit analyst gathers and reviews financial data about loan applicants, including their payment habits and history, earnings and savings, and spending patterns. The credit analyst then recommends approval or denial of the loan.[i]
Credit analysts are tasked with assessing and evaluating the risk of companies making financial loans proposals to retail and commercial customers.[ii]
According to the job description explained by yourself and the definitions mentioned above, as a credit analyst at a bank, you play an integral role in the decision of approving an interest-bearing loan. Hence, you will be directly involved in an interest-bearing transaction. Allah Ta’ala says:
ولا تعاونوا على الإثم والعدوان (الماءدة: 2)
Translation: And do not help each other in sin and aggression. (Al-Maidah: 2)
Accordingly, it is not permissible to work as a credit analyst for the bank.
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
