Can one keep hamsters as pets?
Question
Assalamualaikum, so I went the pet store and they had these little hamsters and they were sooo cute I just wanted to cuddle them forever and even my dad said they were adorable and my mom agreed but then my mom said they were like haram. Can you help please?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible to keep hamsters as pets as long as one takes care of the hamsters. [1]
