How can a reverted Muslim brother/sister offer animal sacrifice on Eid-ul-Adha?

Question

Assalam walaikum

Dear brother,

I wanted to know that how a reverted muslim brother/sister can offer animal sacrifice on Eid-ul-Adha when his/her parents are not muslims? They are Christians. Because who is offering animal sacrifising, his/her name alongwith their fathers' names must be uttered before sacrifising. So in that case, fathe'rs name should be taken irrespectively of father's religion or is their any other ways to do it properly?

Eid-ul-Adha is coming. This will be very helpful. I am Eagerly waiting for the answer.

Thanks,

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

When sacrificing an Animal for Eidul Adha, the intention of the individual from his/her heart is sufficient for the validity of the sacrifice. It is not necessary to take her name or his fathers name at the time of the sacrifice.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
