Did I commit Kufr?
Question
Salaam
Once during Ramadhan, my non muslim colleague asked me for some lunch coupons for himself.
He asked me whether I would not fall short and I told him that I was fasting.
He was apologetic and said that he should not even mention such things infront of me.
To this I said No, its fine.
By saying this have I committted Kufr.
Regards
Furhan
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The fear of committing kufr is a sign of your Imān. You have not committed kufr. You merely told your colleague not to feel bad for asking you for lunch coupons while you were in the state of fasting. This does not constitute kufr.
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best.
