Is love allowed in islam??

a girl and a boy were really good friends. they are 19years old. their  friendship last for one year. then they started loving eachother. they only talked on phones or on msn. they never cross their limits. they never touched each other. never shake hands. never met in lonliness. there is no sexual relationship between them. this kind of love is allowed in islam??  then they both decided to finish there relation and get reunited after few years. but the girl can live without him. she cant do anything. she cant eat, canr work properly, always cry. now can you please tell me what the oy should do??
