If one is given a talaaq for the send time and it was given on the first day that her menstrual cycle began does that count for the first menstral cycle during the idaat period.

If one is given a talaaq for the send time and it was given on the first day that her menstrual cycle began does that count for the first menstral cycle during the idaat period.
Answer
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh
The menses is which the talaq was issued will not be regarded as the first menstrual cycle of iddat. The divorcee will have to spend three menstrual cycles after that menses.
