My husband has a life +4 year sentence.He may never come home. What should I do?

Question

My husband has been in prison for 10 years and I have remained faithful to him, but it is becoming almost unbearable to remain so. I can't find anything pertaining to an incarcerated husband and I just can't see myself going through the rest of my life alone.

Answer

You may request your husband in prison to issue you a divorce. If he
refuses to do so, you may contact your local Ulama and request them to annul
your marriage. They will apply the judicial procedure in doing so. Should
they require assistance to annul your marriage, they may contact us.
