One of my respected Hanbali brothers told that slaughter applies to cattle only, and there is no need to slaughter chickens. Could you please give the fatwah of our four Imams regarding slaughtering of chickens?

Answer

The Hanbali brother has erred. All the Madhaahib are unanimous that chickens must be slaughtered according to the Shari?ah for them to be Halaal.
