Is taraweeh salaat valid for women performing through a sound system which is in a seperate quarters of a duplex.

Question

Taraweeh salaat is perfomed in a Jamaat Khana in a duplex.A seprate flat which is about 10 metres away is used for the females.A sound system is used.No intermingling takes place and the women have mahraams. Is the salaat of the females valid?

Answer

The women following the Imaam in Taraweeh Salaat should stand behind the men in such a manner that there is a screen between them, in the same duplex or flat. They should not be in a separate duplex even though the voice is read and heard via a sound system.
