Can women wear pants above ankle?

Question

Its fashionable for women in hijaab to do this right now. I thought it was haraam. Is it?

Answer

Yes, it is compulsory for women to cover their ankles in front of non-Mahram
males.

The women should be discouraged from emulating the norms and fashions of the
women of the west.
