On my Nikah I was asked to pay K500.00 as mahr (dowry), but because of financial problems, I managed to pay only K350.00. When I pay the balance now, she refuses. Is my nikah valid?

Question

On my Nikah I was asked to pay K500.00 as mahr (dowry), but because of financial problems, I managed to pay only K350.00, and promised to pay the balance at the end of the month. On the due date I gave the balance of K 1 5 0. 00, but she refused. It is now almost six months and every time I give her she refuses. Is my Nikah valid?

Answer

The Nikah is valid.
