Can small children handel quran with out ablution

Question

Assalamualikum, My Son is 7 years old and had just started reading quran with teacher. Is it compulsory that he do wahu to read it. Also can infant touch the quran. Jazakumullah Khair

Answer

In principle, a small child (not mature) is allowed to handle the Qur'aan
without Wudhu (ablution). (Shaami vol.1 pg.173; HM Saeed)

However, they should be encouraged to perform Wudhu even from a tender age
so that this conscience may always remain with them.
