Fatwa #48423 February 2002South Africa

If you have sex with you wife and shortly plan to have sex again why do you have to do wudhu in between? Can such a wudhu be valid when ghusl is required?

Answer

Abu Sa'eed Khudhriy (Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah
(Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'When one of you comes to his wife (have
conjugal relationship) and then wish to have another relationship with her,
he should make Wudhu between the two relationships.' (Abu Dawud pg.29;
Karachi)

The word, 'Wudhu' in this Hadith means to wash impurities around the private
parts.
