Imām confesses Kufr, so what is the status of the congregants Salaah?

Question

Assalamu 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

1. A person with beliefs entailing kufr had been leading congregational prayers in the past, but has repented now. Would he now be required to find and inform the
muqtadis to repeat all their prayers (that they prayed behind him)?

2. In case he is required to do so, but finds it either impossible or difficult, what should he do?

Wassalamu 'alaikum
