Question

I wanted to ask can we freeze embryo made from my eggs and my husbands sperms? My husband has azospermia and he had sperm retreival through surgical process and he can not go through the prcocess again. I have got no issue. We already have two children with ICSI treament and in last treatment fertility clinic told us there is extra embryo formed which we can use in future so we permitted them to freeze it. By Allah's will we want to have third child in future can we use the frozen embryo or do we need to start the treament all over again which is alot painful for me as...

JazakALLAh

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Sister in Islam,

Alhamdulillah, your two children are indeed a great gift from Almighty Allah. He created a way for you to enjoy the blessings and fortune of motherhood.

The ICSI treatment (a method of IVF) is generally only permitted due to need.[1] You state that an embryo was already frozen from previous attempts. It will therefore be permissible to attempt another birth using the frozen embryo.

We make Dua Almighty Allah grant you pious healthy offspring. Aameen.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
