Can a human egg be frozen due to fear of infertility after chemotherapy?

Question

Assalmu Alaykum

an unmarried young woman in her ealry twenties was just diagnosed for Lymphoma.  Her oncologist has advised to freeze her unfertilized egg as she might not able to concieve naturally after her chemotherapy.  Is it allowed in Islam to do that?  She can use it to fertilize with her future husband's sperm.  Really appreciate if you can answer as fast as you can as her chemotherapy will be starting soon.  Requesting duas for her fastest recovery

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa-ramatullahi wa-barakatuh.

May Allah grant the young woman in reference a speedy recovery.

We advise against freezing the unfertilized egg.[1]

And Allah Ta`ala Knows Best.
