Islam 360 App and Websites on Islamic History

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu 'alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1.     The Darul Iftaa is unable to comment regarding the Islam 360 App due to the following reasons:

a.     We are not familiar with many of the translations in the Quran and Hadith sections.

b.     We are not aware of the authors behind the Fiqh section 

c.     We are not aware of all the sources behind the other compilations on the app. 

We therefore advise against using the app for these purposes. One may seek alternate reliable apps or books on those subjects. If one merely wishes to recite Quran on the phone, there are other apps which serve that purpose. Similarly, some apps provide reliable translations for Quran and Hadith. 

2.     We are unaware of any authentic websites regarding Islamic History.

However, one may refer to the following books on Islamic History:

a.     Seeratul Mustafa (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) written by Moulana Idris Kandhelwi (Rahimahullah), translated into English by Mufti M.Kadwa Saheb and Moulana M.Mahomedy Saheb.

b.     Hayatus Sahabah by Moulana M.Yusuf Kandhelwi (Rahimahullah), translated into English by Mufti Afzal Hoosen Elias (Rahimahullah).

c.     Tareekh-e-Millat by Qari Zayn Ul Aabidin (Rahimahullah) and Mufti Intizamullah Shihabi Akbarabadi (Rahimahullah), translated into English by Mufti Abdullah Moolla Saheb (The History of Islam).

d.     The Sun That Never Set, written by Maulana Sulaiman Moolla Saheb.

e.     The Sealed Nectar by Shaykh Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri (Rahimahullah), and The Four Caliphs Collection by Shaykh Ali Muhammad As-Sallabi, 

f.      Al Bidayah Wanihayah by Hafiz Ibn Katheer (Rahimahullah)

g.     Siyar A'laam an-Nubalaa by Imam Al-Dhahabi (Rahimahullah)
