Pronunciation of the name Uthman

Question

As in my culture people can't pronounce all words correctly, I will of course educate people to pronounce it with a "tha". However, if people started saying it as a "Seen" will it be wrong or sinful? How should we best approach this?

Qaseem - am I right it was out beloved Prophet (saw) sons name and it means "Gracious"

insha'Allah you are blessed for the continuous great work.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu 'alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The correct way to pronounce the name Uthman is with a "Tha" (ث). If one pronounces the name Uthman with a "Seen" (س), he will not be sinful.

As stated in the query, you may educate the people on how to correctly pronounce the name.

The name of one of the sons of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) was Qasim (قاسم). The name Qasim means "the one who distributes".
