Summary of Thursday Majlis at Musjid Us Saliheen, Sherwood - by Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb

Mufti Saheb presented the incident of a Sahabi, Haatib Radiallahu Anhu who committed a serious mistake of attempting to divulge the secret of Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam to launch an attack on the non Muslims in Makkah that lead to the conquest of Makkah Mukarrama. This had serious political implications. 

Mufti Saheb said, look at the Sunnah of Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam 

1) He sought clarity directly from Hatib Radiallahu Anhu and accepted his excuse 

On this Mufti Saheb expounded on avoiding information from indirect sources. That is misleading and causes undue confusion in the community. 

2) When Umar Radiallahu Anhu was overwhelmed with what Hatib Radiallah u Anhu did, he asked permission to behead Hatib Radiallahu Anhu. Rasullullah Sallallahu Alaihi controlled Umar Radiallahu Anhu and reminded him that Hatib is a Badri Sahabi.

On this Mufti Saheb said, dont forget the sacrifices of our elders of Dawat and Tabligh, the sacrifices of the Ulama for Deen because of some errors made by them. Dont write them off. Also focus on the good people have done.

We need the intervention of some senior people to contain the emotions of people. Seniors do not get overwhelmed by the emotions of juniors and do not simply use the seniority card to guide people.
