What should a woman do in a non-Islamic state like South Africa if herhusband goes missing and his whereabouts are unknown?

Answer

She must make an application to the Judicial committee of a competent
Ulama body of her province for an annulment of her marriage. Following the
procedures laid down by the Shari'ah, the committee will annul her marriage
accordingly.
