Has my Haidh commenced?
Question
Assalamualaikum. Yesterday, when I put a tissue paper in my vagina, I saw discharge that was slightly yellow in color in the tissue paper. But the discharge appeared to be white when I took it in my fingers. Now which color do I consider? Given the fact that the tissue paper was white in colour. And white discharge over the white tissue paper may appear to be slightly yellow in colour in comparison to the whiteness of the tissue paper. Should I consider that my period has started from that moment?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
You should consider the pattern of your general cycle in terms of when your periods commence and the type of discharge you generally experience during the commencement of your periods. If it is at the time of the month that you expect your periods and the yellowish colour is similar to the previous time when your periods commenced, then it will be your periods. If it is not the time for your periods or the discharge colour is generally different when your periods commence, then probably the present discharge is not periods. It seems yellow in relation to the white tissue paper.

كما لو رأت بياضا فاصفر بعد اليبس أو بالعكس – اعتبر ما كان قبل التغير..
