Sharing tuition notes - Is it permissible for someone else to use those notes?

Question

 السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

1) Is it permissible to eat cake given to you that was made for someones birthday.

2) If a learner goes for tuition (pays for it), receives notes from the tutor and thereafter gives the notes to someone else, will it be permissible for the person to use and also share those notes

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1) As Muslims, we are averse to celebrating birthdays and anything related to that, including eating birthday cakes. In the enquired case, you should avoid eating the birthday cake. Refer to Fatwa #19924.

2) The learner paid for the tuition and the notes. The notes belong to the learner. He can use the notes for his personal use as well as share it with others.[1][1]
