Is there any Qur'anic Aayat/Wazifa for marriage?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Sister in Islam,

There are no specific Wadhaaif to be recited for finding a suitable spouse.

However, we take note of the contents of your email and your feeling of depression.

Allah Ta'ala has already preordained the events and happenings in a person’s life. Concerning your daughter’s time of marriage, that too has been preordained, therefore one should not become despondent and lose hope in the mercy of Allah. You should put your full trust and hope in Allah Ta’ala regarding a marriage partner for your daughter, as it is only Allah Ta’ala’s plans that are the best for us. She will meet the match that Allah Ta’ala has written for her.

You should also adopt means and seek counsel from appropriate people in searching for a suitable husband for your daughter.

Perform two Rak’aats Salaatul Haajah and implore Allah to bless her with a good and pious husband. Du’a is the weapon of a believer.

Apart from performing two Rak’aats of Salaahtul Haajah, the following du’as are effective. Allah will put barakah in the means she adopts and guide her to the right spouse. Insha-Allah. ^[1]

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

Translation: ‘There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory to You; Indeed, I have been of the transgressors.

This is the supplication of Dhun-Nun (Prophet Yunus Alaihis Salaam) while he was in the belly of the whale.

Nabi ﷺ said:

فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَدْعُ بِهَا رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلاَّ اسْتَجَابَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ‏"

So indeed, no Muslim man supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allah responds to him.”

 (Jamiut-Tirmidhi)

 إني لما انزلت الي من خير فقير                        

Transliteration: “Inni Lima anzalta illayye min khairin faqeer”

Translation: “Indeed I am in need of goodness”

(Surah Al-Qasas, Verse 24)

This is the supplication of Moosa (Alayhis Salaam), which he read while he was a traveller and desperate for his basic needs.

"‏ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ ‏"‏‏

Translation: "O Allah! Give to us in the world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire."

(Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Al-Muslim)

Your daughter could also practice the following:

• After Esha Salaah recite:

               11 x Durood Shareef

               111 x Ya Jaami’u

               111 x Ya Lateefu

               111 x Ya Kareemu

               11 x Durood Shareef

Thereafter she should make dua for a compatible spouse. Insha Allah, Allah will make matters easy for her. ^[2]

• Recite Surah Al-Mumtahinah (chapter 60) once daily for 21 consecutive days, after Esha Salaah and blow on your forehead.

• Recite verse 36 of Surah Yaseen (Surah 36) 121 times every night.

May Allah Ta’ala bless your daughter with the most compatible partner who is a means of happiness for her in this world and the hereafter. Aameen.
