Is the step-son a Mahram for his step-grandmother?

Question

Asalaamu Alaikum

Duas mufti saheb is well.

Can mufti saheb please give me a ruling on this situation

Ahmed married nadia

Nadia has a son (azhar) from a previous marriage

Now is this (azhar) son of nadia a mahram for ahmeds mother?

In short can this boy (azhar) be a a mahram for his step fathers mother(i.e step dadi) ?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, the step-son is not a Mahram for the step-fathers mother (Dadi).[i] Accordingly, Azhar is not a Mahram for his step dadi.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
