What should be done or read if I am in dire need of a job?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We make dua Allah grant you Halal and wholesome income and Rizq. Aameen.

We live in this word of means (Dar-ul-Asbab). We should adopt means to fulfill our needs.

You should adopt all possible means to get a good job. For example, inform friends and family of your need. Consult with them and get leads for a job a suitable job. Also, pray two Rakat Salat-ul-Hajah every day and make dua to Allah to guide you to effective means to get a job and put Barakah in the means you adopt.

We also recommend you recite the following Dua a hundred times between the break of dawn and Fajar Salah:

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الْعَظِيمِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ[1]

Translation: Glory is to Allah and with His Praise. Glory is to Allah, the Magnificent. I seek forgiveness from Allah.

387- عبد الله بن نافع الجمحي المدني، قراب [حدثنا] علي بن محمد بن أحمد بن يعقوب. عن محمد بن عبد الله بن نعيم النيسابوري، أخبرنا محمد بن أحمد النضرابادي، حدثنا العباس بن حمزة، حدثنا أحمد بن خالد الشيباني، حدثنا عبد الله بن نافع الجمحي المدني، عن مالك بن أنس، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر، قال شهدت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وأتاه رجل، فقال يا رسول الله قلّت ذات يدي. فقال أين أنت عن صلاة الملائكة، وتسبيح الخلائق التي بها يرزقون؟ قال ابن عمر فاغتنمت، فقلت يا رسول الله ما هو؟ فقال يا ابن عمر من حين يطلع الصبح إلى حين يصلي الفجر، سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان الله العظيم استغفر الله، مائة مرة تأتيك الدنيا صاغرة راغمة، ويخلق من كل [تسبيح] ملك يسبح إلى يوم القيامة.
