What are the effects of reciting Durood daily 1000 times?

Question

as-salam-elay-kum mufti sahib

I made it a regular habit of reciting durood ibrahimi 1000 times daily.  My question is:

1.  Will it affect my brain if I read it continously?

2.  Whenever I read it I feel heavy inside, why is that happening and is there anything I can do to make it lighter?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Respected Brother,

We commend you on your practice of reciting Durood Ibrahim. May Allah Ta’ala grant us true love for Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). Aameen.

We take note that you have had a similar query previously (6 October 2019). Hence, we advise you abstain from making excessive Zikr without the supervision of a spiritual mentor. Therefore, you should take Bay’at at the hands of a spiritual mentor who will guide you accordingly based on your current situation.

The spiritual mentor will be in a greater position to determine and prescribe that amount of Zikr which is suitable for you and help in overcoming the uneasiness you are currently experiencing.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

Checked and Approved by,
Mufti Ebrahim Desai.
