I am still unmarried but inshallah I look forward to getting married but I have no job for quite some time.  Please remember me in your duas.

Jizakallah.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We make Dua to Allah Ta’āla that He alleviates all the distress and misfortunes from you.

The possibility of Sihr (magic) being done on your house or you cannot be ruled out. However, it should be noted that nowadays, people attribute the slightest distress, illness, and calamity to magic. Nevertheless, the effect of magic is effective inherently, but it is not as common as people understand it to be. Many a time, people afflicted with medical conditions go straight to an Aamil neglecting the medical perspective completely. It is vital that one follows up on medical diagnosis and treatment before going to an Aamil for treatment.

Furthermore, the practice of treating people of Sihr has become a moneymaking scheme, and many fraud Aamils have taken up this role. Therefore, one must be vigilant of the reliability of an Aamil as many Aamils dishonestly diagnose patients with Sihr. One should determine the reliability of an Aamil through his adherence to the Sunnah and observation of the laws of Hijab.

Some actions which Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) educated us to do to safeguard ourselves from Sihr.

1)    Recite Ayat-ul-Kursi before going to sleep.

Translation: When you go to your bed, recite Ayat-ul-Kursi. A protector from Allah will constantly be with you and Shaytan will not come near you till the morning. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said he told you the truth though he is a liar. That was Shaytan.

2)    Recite the following Dua:

Translation: I seek refuge with the absolute words of Allah from every Shaytan and poisonous creature and from the evil eye.

3)    Recite the following Dua every morning and evening:

Translation: Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said the one who says in the morning There is no deity besides Allah alone, He has no partners, for him is the kingdom and all praises. And He has power over everything” it is an amnesty for the children of Ismaeel and ten sins will be removed from him and he will be elevated by ten levels. And it is a protection for him from Shaytan until the night. And in the night the same way until the morning.

4)    Recite Surah Falaq and Surah Nas.

Translation: Aisha (Radhi Allahu Anha) narrates that whenever Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) became ill, he used to recite the Muawwidhatan (i.e. Surah Falaq and Surah Nas) and blow his breath over himself (after their recitation ) and rubbed his hands over his body. So when he was afflicted with his fatal illness. I started reciting the Muawwidhatan and blowing my breath over him as he used to do, and then I rubbed the hand of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) over his body.”

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
