Masturbation - How to stop?

Question

Assalamualaykum I hope Muftisaheb is well.
I'm writing the letter so that I can seek help from my filthy habit.
I have a filthy habit of watching pornogaphy and masturbating. I have made dua to Allah so that I may stop these filthy habits.
This pass Friday I made a firm intention to stop these habits. It's been a few days and I'm feeling motivated and confident. I have this fear that this firm intention I made must not fade away and I must not go back to those filthy ways.
I have browsed through a pdf copy of a Kitaab by MAULANA ABDULLAH ISMAIL
MADRASAH ARABIA ISLAMIA
AZAADVILLE titled  MASTURBATION
A DISASTROUS PROBLEM FACED BY THE YOUTH.
I have read the spiritual and physical harms of masturbation. I'm so scared right now that I do not know what to do.
I have the intention of making Nikah soon InshAllah and I don't want to Displeasure my spouse by not fulfilling her sexual desires.
Muftisaab please give me tips on how to regain my strength spirituality and physically. I'm also scared to visit a doctor If muftisaab can advise what foods etc I can eat so that I can regain my strength.
JazakAllah in advance.
Request for Muftiaabs Pious Dua's
Wassalaam

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Brother in Islam,

It is encouraging to note that you have quit the evil and harmful act of masturbating. Your present feeling is at most a fear due to the negative consequences of masturbating. Thus, to overcome your fear, you may engage in physical exercises to build strength and muscle in you. Do not make these fears a barrier for you to perform Nikah. You may also consult a pious Hakeem for further advice on what foods to eat for gaining strength.

Furthermore, you may adopt the following methods to regain spiritual strength:

1. Adopt the company and friendship of pious people.

2. Be conscious that Allah Ta’ala is watching you. ponder upon the verse الم يعلم بان الله يرى, (Does he not know that Allah is seeing?)

3. Obtain a copy of Qaseedah Burdah by my honourable teacher, Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb, for spiritual revival. You may also access it via this link.

Above all, we advise you to turn to Allah Ta’ala with Dua, Zikr and Salaah and beg Allah Ta’ala to keep you steadfast on staying away from this evil act.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

Checked and Approved by,
Mufti Ebrahim Desai.
