What should the spacing be between our feet when standing for Salaat? Also should our feet physically need to touch the person next to us in Jamaat?

Please expand your answer to include women as well.

Answer

There are a number of Ahaadith which mention one form of standing or another
as Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) stated, 'Straighten your rows, or else
Allah will cause friction between your hearts.' (Ma'arifus Sunan).

There is no fixed or stipulated space which has to be left between the feet.
That which is comfortable and convenient will be regarded as Sunnah.
