Using condoms
Question
Is it necessary to wear condom while doing copulation with wife, since many people say that if it is not worn then there are very high chances of getting infected by aids.
Is it true? Or it's just for increasing its selling?
If it is false then we should avoid wearing it.
But if it's true then we must wear it.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is obvious it is not necessary to always use condoms during conjugal relationship with one’s wife. However, if there is a legitimate reason in Shariah to use condoms, as in the case of infections etc., then one may use condoms. It is incorrect to generally assume that one’s wife has an infection without any reason.
