permissible to cut or shave the hair of the nape?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is permissible to cut the hair of the nape. However, one should avoid shaving the nape.

وَعَنْ أَبِي حَنِيفَةَ - رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى - يُكْرَهُ أَنْ يَحْلِقَ قَفَاهُ إلَّا عِنْدَ الْحِجَامَةِ كَذَا فِي الْيَنَابِيعِ.
