Revealing the Face

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, it is not permissible for a woman to reveal her face to ghayr mahram men. A ghayr mahram is a person with whom marriage is permissible.

However, in case of necessity such as at security checks at the airport, and in an unavoidable situation, she will be excused.[1]
