Calling baba to their stepfather
Question
As Salamu Alaykum, could you please tell me if it is permissable for my step children to call me buba meaning farther? Jazakullahu Khairun
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The stepchildren may call the stepfather baba out of respect and not regarding him as their biological father.
