Copying Islamic Software

Question

Asalamu alaikum, I am thinking of copying Islamic software to distribute to my friends and family for free. I paid for this software and i would be violating the copywrite agreement. However, i feel that this software should be free for all who want to learn about Islam. If was to do this act would it be a sin?

Answer

Copying Computer software programmes is a violation of copyright laws, hence, not permissible.
