What is the Significance of the three days and forty days after a funeral?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

The gatherings of three days and forty days after a funeral has no bases in Islam. One should abstain from such customary practices, as such practices are bid’ah and sinful. ^{(1) (2)}
