Pulling Cheeks of Child

Question

Is it jaaiz in islam to pull the cheeks of a child or slap him/her out of love?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is permissible as long as it does not cause harm or pain.

It is highly recommended and greatly rewarding to express love to one’s children. One should not be harsh and overly stern with one’s children.[1]

And Allah Ta‘ālā Knows Best.
