Qadha After Irtidaad

Question

I was born in a muslim family. Knew was a muslim but never did my namaaz, never felt like. Even after attaining puberty i did not establish prayers. And then I converted into a christian. Lived like a non believer a whole year. And Allah swt brought this unworthy back to Islam in ways that are just beautiful Alhamdulilla! I want to know if I need to make qadha of all the namaaz i missed since puberty till now? Even those days when I lived like a nonbeliever?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

At times we don’t value our Noor of Islam and take it for granted. When we experience the darkness of Kufr, then we realize the value of the Noor of Islam. You are fortunate that Allah granted you the Noor of Islam after you lost it. Value Islam and preserve it to death.

You are responsible to make up those prayers which were missed before and after apostasy, not the Salaat you missed as a non-Muslim.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
