In some mosques of Pakistan, after Fardh Prayer, people recite La ila ha illal lah (three times) and Muhamadur Rasullulah (once) loudly and together.

Question

In some mosques of Pakistan, after Fardh Prayer, people recite La ila ha illal lah (three times) and Muhamadur Rasullulah (once) loudly and together. Is this practice allowed in Islam or not? Please explain whether this practice Is correct in Shariah or not?

Answer

This practise has no basis in Shari'ah.

If such practise is regarded as necessary, then it is a Bid'ah. Omission of
this practise is necessary in all situations (regarded as necessary or not)
since this may lead to perpetration of Bid'at or at least, cause doubt in
the minds of other Musallees.
