Taking an oath

Question

My girlfriend took an oath to allah that she will not be with me for another year and a half because she was forced too is this a valid oath is there anyway she can break this

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In essence, the oath in reference of the girl was to abstain from the haram relationship she had with you. According to Shariah, it is haram in the first instance for both of you to be together with each other. The oath has reinforced the prohibition on her. Further the prohibition will be permanent. It is not confined to your half. The only way to break this is to legalise the relationship ship through a valid nikah.
