Giving interest money to one’s needy brother to pay his university fees

Question

I got my money from the bank becuase of job change and happen to know that I had too much interest on that.

My question is, now that I have the money, can I give it to my needy brother who has to pay his university fee? He is a student in university and my father has to pay for his fee, but my father has too much difficulty in paying that amount.

My brother has no possession of himself and stays with my father.

Thanks. Hoping for a quick guidance

Answer

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It will be permissible to give your brother, who is needy, the interest money to pay off his university fees[1].

And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best.
