How to pronounce these names
Question
i want to name my son
1. Muhammad Adiy Malik (how to pronounce Adiy)
2. Muhammad Adyan Malik (how to pronounce Adyan)
3. Muhammad Humayl Malik
plz suggest me which name is good for my son (expected date is between 10th feb 2015 to 10th march 2015)
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The pronunciation for the names are in reference are:
Adiy: عَدِيّ
Adyan: أَدْيَاْن
Humayl: هُمَيْل
We would recommend keeping the first or third name as they were the names of the sahaabah, namely ‘Adiy bin Haatim[1] and Humayl bin al-Damoon.[2]
