Is it permissible/allowed for a young woman to live alone?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In order for us to advise, explain why is the young woman in reference in a foreign country? What do you mean by ‘alone’?
