Why does the Imam not recite Qira’ah loudly in Dhuhr and Asr Salah?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In order to understand the reason why there is audible qiraat in some Salats and inaudible in other Salahs, we wish to expand on the question from another dimension. Why do we perform two rakaats in Fajar, four in Zuhar and three rakaats in Magrib? Why aren’t all the Salah’s performed at one time? Similarly why does one fast in Ramdaan and not in Muharram or why is Haj in Zulhaj and not in another month? After having expanded on the question, it becomes clear that all issues related to Salah, the timings, the number of rakaats as well as the qiraat are all by the divine order of Allah as shown to us by Rasulullah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam. The rationale behind all these factors are beyond our comprehension.

As sincere slaves of Allah we submit to the order s of Shariah and the Sunnah even without understanding the rationale behind such rulings. It is sufficient for us to understand that Allah is Al Hakeem (The all wise) and every order of Allah is full of wisdom.
